This is my first time, what do I do?

Make an appointment to see a professional hair extension technician. They will advise you how hair extensions are applied. The most important part of hair extension is the right hair and technique. Hair is produced in different parts of the world and it is
important that you get the right hair to match your own hair type. Initial consultation is free.

How long does it take for the hair extensions to be fitted?

It can be a lengthy process it can take anywhere between 3 - 4 hours depending on the thickness of hair required.

How long do the hair extensions last for?

If the hair extensions are well cared for, they will last for approximately 3 months with the micro ring method.

How much is maintenance and how long does it take?

Maintenance is scheduled every 4 weeks; this will help with the longevity of your hair extensions. The cost is around £60; the appointment takes approximately 1 - 2 hours.

How often can I wash my hair?

As often as you would wash your natural hair.

Can I tie back my hair?
Yes the hair extensions can be tied back if you used the Micro ring strand method or in a loose ponytail if used with the Micro ring weft.

Will people be able to tell that I'm wearing extensions?

No one will be able to tell because the extensions are always applied behind the hairline and away from the natural partings so the connection points are not visible. The colour is matched exactly to the same shade as your own hair. The stylist blends the
extensions in with your own hair so they look completely natural.

How long does my existing hair need to be?

At least 4 inches (10 cm) long.

Can I use hot rollers, blow dryers, curling & straightening irons?

Yes, you can do all the above! Use a heat protection spray when applying heat any form to your hair as this put a protective barrier on your hair and prevents the hair from drying. We only use 100% human hair that can be treated and styled like your own
natural hair.

What types of hair product can I use?

It is recommended that you use non-silicone based products. Always use products that are very low in alcohol content or with no alcohol at all. Alcohol dries out your hair and strips the hair. Your hair extension technician will be able to advise on products that
are good to use on hair extensions.

Can I dye my hair extensions?

Yes you can, but it would be advisable to do a strand test before dying your whole head. If for example you are a natural brunette
but you have died your hair blonde and have blond extensions then you can just re-dye your roots as per usual.

Can I take the extensions out myself?

It is highly recommended that you get a trained hair extension technician to remove your hair extensions. If removed by an un trained person this can result in damage to the natural hair.

What is Remy hair?

Enhanced Hair only use Remy hair because it is the highest quality of human hair available. It comes from a single donor and the cuticles are intact and run in the same direction preventing any excess tangling or matting.

What is non Remy hair?

This is Asian hair that is gathered from brushes, the hair that is collected is different lengths and thicknesses, also the hair cuticles lie in different directions. This hair is then put through harsh processing to help prevent tangling, which then results in the
cuticle being striped and the hair being poor quality. It only tends to stay in an okay condition for a few weeks then it begins to
tangle and matt very easily.

Should I have hair extensions for my wedding day?

Absolutely, however it is recommend that you have them fitted a few weeks before your big day as this will give you time to get used to the new look and maintenance.

What areas do you cover?

We are based in London and will cover all surrounding areas.

Why do I need a free consultation?

A free consultation is necessary to enable the stylist to determine the exact colour, length and style you desire. Also to answer any questions you may have.

A non-refundable deposit of 50% of cost is required to secure each booking, which is to be paid at the consultation. This will enable us to order your required hair and arrange an appointment convenient to yourself for the fitting.

Diamond Dust Hair Extensions is based in London. Initial consultation is for free and will no longer than 20 minutes.
